MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE

The past couple of weeks I've been pretty lazy with my skincare routine and my skin is most certainly angry at me for it. I've always been prone to an angry spot or two, but for the past two months I've had the angriest of spots ever imaginable. The ones that nestle themselves right in there, wouldn't dare peep out in a head but shine so bright they let everyone know it's there.

I actually had one so bad on the side of my chin that my cheek actually swelled up - no joke! I've now got a swollen septum on my nose because one has decided to set up shop there for a bit. I've also got a cold, so sneezing and blowing my nose is agony at the minute. Feeling sorry for myself much?

Because of this, I've really knuckled down and I'm sticking to a routine that I really like at the minute so I thought I'd share it.

BIRCHBOX | JUNE

This month's Birchbox is by far my most favourite one yet. It's my favourite because of the actual box. Instead of the usual box with removable lid, June's box has a little draw that slides out containing 5 products.

BEAUTY HAUL

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with buying make up and skincare products. When we were in Barcelona we visited the NYX and KIKO stores and I couldn't help but buy stuff I really didn't need but definitely wanted. After that little treat, I couldn't help but continue to treat myself.

3 NIGHTS IN BARCELONA

Last week Tom and I went to Barcelona with our best friends for 3 nights. We stayed in this beautiful apartment which was a short walk away from pretty much everything and had a brilliant time. The apartment was lovely, really clean and had everything we'd need. I didn't get photos of the apartment but the following two photos are of the view from the balcony in the living/dining room.

NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

A lovely friend on mine, Beckie Eschle, wrote a blog post recently about reacting to negative comments and it got me thinking. Beckie is a lovely girl, I've known her for around 7 years now and she is beautiful, she has a big heart, she cares for people, she's kind and she's also incredibly brave and inspirational. She talks very openly on her blog about mental health and shares tips and tricks that are working for her in order to help others - that's pretty awesome in itself!!

When I read that someone left her negative comments, it made me really angry. If they knew her, they wouldn't even think of associating those comments with her. I know that negative comments are a regular thing on social media and I always thought it was amongst the younger community, those who are still in school. But from opening my eyes a little and reading comments on friends instagram accounts, youtube comments and blog comments, it's really not just the younger community. I've seen women in their 40's leave really vile, nasty comments to people who they don't even know.
