I'm ashamed to say that it was only a month ago I purchased my first Mac Lipstick. I have always been a drugstore kind of girl, having never really earned a huge amount of money working in retail I always thought the likes of Mac were way out of my budget. That was a total misconception and I think if you try products on and test things out properly there is no money wasting involved at all. When I was much younger and would treat myself to a high end products I would always purchase products which everyone was raving about, or friends said they used/liked rather than what actually suited me. Which is where I would waste a lot of money and I guess created this idea of higher end brands being too much money and I would solely stick to shopping in Boots and Superdrug.

1. MAC Frost Lipstick - Barcelona Red (discontinued)
2. MAC Lustre - Costa Chic (I think! The name has rubbed off at the bottom)
3. MAC Satin Lipstick- Twig
4. Mac Retro Matte Lipstick - Ruby Woo
5. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Creme D'Nude
Barcelona Red and Costa Chic was given to me a few years ago by someone which was the first time I ever owned a Mac Lipstick. I absolutely adore Costa Chic in the summer, it's such a beautiful bright colour.

I then brought Twig last month which at the moment I'm wearing as an everyday lipstick. Ruby Woo and Creme D'Nude was a birthday present (pretty awesome presents!!) I LOOOOOVE Ruby Woo!!!! It makes my teeth look so white! I like wearing Creme D'Nude when I have a heavy eye look as it's a real natural colour.

I can see an obsession starting to happen here, I'm already looking at what colour to buy next so if you have any recommendations - let me know!

The nail varnish is actually a lot lighter than in the image.
When I first saw that Barry M had brought out a Speedy Quick Dry range I thought hallelujah the big man upstairs has answered all my prayers! The colour range in this collection is beautiful, perfect for spring/summer and with the sun recently making an appearance I couldn't resist.

I purchased this muted almost duck egg pastel purple (I may have just made that colour up) alongside Kiss Me Quick which is a pale pastel pink. I love the colour, it's beautiful but the next day after I painted my nails they chipped and started to peel off.

I did only do one coat though as the colour pay off is insanely good! I thought one layer is all I will need but I was wrong there. I was pleasantly surprised with how quick it dried, these products are usually a gimmick and I always regret falling for such promises. I think I only had to sit still not touching anything for around 5 minutes (which is good going for me, I'm usually there for about 15 minutes trying desperately not to touch anything... you can always guarantee there's an itch that appears right after applying nail polish).

At £3.99 how can you say no?

don't mind the horrendous fake tan hands

I have wanted to do some form of a detox for some time now, I looked at doing a 3 day smoothie detox where you purely drink smoothies for three days straight but I love food too much to do that. I think I would miss having food in my mouth too much.

I've always been someone who eats quiet healthy anyway, I love vegetables and fruit, I used to do a lot of walking and working in retail previously definitely had it's moments of being more hard work than an hours session in the gym.

However, for the past few months my skin had broken out and it was getting progressively worse, I felt a lot more drained and slugish than usual, I was getting bloated and uncomfortable after meals. I just didn't feel like my usual self and I knew I needed to get my arse into gear.

I first heard about Bootea when I was reading the lovely Becky's blog, a few of my friends had also tried the Bootea range and they recommended giving it a go. So that is exactly what I did.

The first thing I wanted to read up on was whether or not doing a teatox like this will have some form of laxative effect. I understand that detox's are meant to flush out all of the nasties and naughties from your body but I didn't want to wake up in the morning and be running for the bathroom or worse, sitting at work feeling like I could have a near death experience (I would die if something horrific such as crapping myself happened). I had actually watched a review on youtube and the lady who was reviewing it said that after the first night “be near a toilet the next morning”. I still went ahead and made my purchase.

I decided to go for the 14 day teatox to start off with as this is my first teatox and I wasn't sure if I would like it or if it would be something I would stick to.

I have done exactly 7 days so far and I've managed to fit the teatox into my routine perfectly. I have my morning tea when I get to work every day and then the night time tea you have every other night which I have thoroughly enjoyed drinking whilst tucked up in bed watching youtube.

So... the taste
At first I wasn't a huge fan of the morning tea and thought it would be something I was going to have to force down for the next 14 days but I actually really enjoy my morning tea now. In fact I look forward to it on the way to work (how sad?). The evening tea tastes even better than the morning tea, it tastes a lot like peppermint tea!

The effects

On the evenings where I have the night time tea I have noticed that when I wake up in the morning I feel really refreshed, I don't feel as drained as I was doing. Real talk now, I haven't felt like 'oh my god I need to RUN to the toilet' it definitely does have some effect in that department, it definitely regulates you a lot more. Is that enough poo talk now? yes I think so!

Again I haven't started this with the intention of loosing a lot of weight, I certainly was feeling more bulked out than usual but I can't say I've noticed any difference. I did weigh myself because I did want to see if the teatox has that sort of effect and in the first week I have lost a pound but I have also been eating healthily again.

My skin

My skin has got a lot better, it's cleared up really quickly and it's really noticeable. I'm still getting nasty spots that are really under the surface and are really swollen but the overall appearance of my skin has improved a great deal.

I am definitely going to be sticking to the full 14 days, I'm really enjoying drinking the tea, the taste grows on me everyday. I will be doing a full review after I've finished the teatox as I'm intrigued to see how I feel once I stop taking it. I've also added Skinnymint to my shopping list, my friend is currently trying them out and they smell so nice!

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited the launch of Gas Street Social, a new addition the list of bars and restaurants at the Mailbox. Even though the d├ęcor is really industrial it subtly shows off that manufacturing side of Birmingham that it is so famous for and fits in perfectly amongst it's competitors. From the outside it looks like a really chilled, cool and dare I say that word “trendy” place to dine and socialise.

It's the kind of place to head to if your with your friends and want somewhere that is a little quirky (in a good way), has a fun atmosphere, enjoy some very delicious cocktails and socialise. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to try the food, but after eyeing up a few dishes on peoples tables I really want to head back and fill my face!

The cocktail menu had a lot to offer, not too pricey and I will say after the one cocktail I had, well worth the money. Delicious!

This is a little strange, but the toilets are AMAZING! I walked in there and I was like “damn, I want my house to look like this!” I can honestly say, I never expected to be thinking that about toilets in a bar but they are so darn cool!

You can check our Gas Street Social's Twitter page here and their Facebook page here.
